In this workshop, you’ll hand build your very own coffee mug, from shaping the clay to adding your personal creative touch. Whether you want something simple and functional or playful and experimental, this is a space where you can explore and create freely.

Things to note:

• All materials are included (clay, tools, and glazing).
• No prior experience needed – absolute beginners are welcome.
• Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little clay on.
• Your pieces will be fired within 2-3 weeks, ready for pickup!
• We keep the pieces at the studio for max 3 months, after which we discard them due to space constraints.

I’m here to guide you through each step of the process, from forming the mug to decorating it and to encourage your unique style to come through. For me, pottery is about slowing down, reconnecting with your hands, and creating something personal you’ll actually use in daily life. I want participants to feel relaxed, supported, and inspired, whether their goal is to learn a new skill, make a gift, or simply spend a mindful few hours away from work and daily stress. Everyone learns at their own pace, and that’s completely okay, the process is just as valuable as the finished mug.

About Marie:

Marie is a ceramic artist and workshop facilitator based in Vienna. With a passion for hand-building techniques, she loves introducing beginners to the joys of clay. Her work often focuses on functional, everyday objects, pieces that bring warmth, creativity, and beauty into daily routines. When she’s not teaching, you will find her traveling the world and hosting trips around the world for travelers.

My Philosophy

Clay is for everyone. I believe pottery should feel approachable, affordable, and joyful, not intimidating. That’s why I love teaching handbuilding: it doesn’t require fancy equipment, just your hands, some clay, and a bit of imagination. I encourage participants to play, to let go of perfection, and to enjoy the tactile, grounding nature of the process. For me, a pottery class is more than just learning a skill, it’s a chance to pause, create something lasting, and reconnect with yourself.
