Coffee & Wheel – 3 Days Pottery Experience

Working on the wheel is a balance between control and letting go — a dialogue between your hands and the clay.

This Coffee & Wheel workshop is designed as a small-group experience where you’ll be introduced to the essential techniques of wheel throwing in a clear and supportive way. With a maximum of 4 participants, there is plenty of time for individual guidance and hands-on learning.

Day 1 (3h): Forming
We begin with the fundamentals: preparing and centering the clay — the most important step in wheel throwing. From there, you’ll learn how to open, pull, and shape the walls to create your first cylinders and forms.

Day 2 (2h): Trimming
Once the pieces are leather-hard, we refine them by trimming. You’ll learn how to define the foot, adjust proportions, and bring balance and precision to your work.

Day 3 (1h, during open studio): Glazing
In the final step, you’ll glaze your pieces, exploring surface, color, and finish before they go into the kiln.

Throughout the process, we focus on understanding the material — its timing, its limits, and its possibilities — while creating in a calm, cosy, and friendly atmosphere in the studio.

And yes, good making goes well with our delicious barista coffee at each session.

No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try.

It’s not rocket science… but it does take attention, rhythm, and a bit of patience. We’ll guide you through it.
