In this workshop, you will be able to create a multicolor linocut using the reduction linocut technique. It is also possible to work with only one layer and create a black-and-white print, if you prefer.

“I’m here to guide you through every step of the way. I want to introduce more people to linocut and other printing techniques that can be done without a printing press – because accessible and affordable printing methods are great for expressing yourself + making a (political) statement. I also encourage using what they’ve taken from the workshops to make patches, upcycle and repair their old clothes and consider making more of their gifts themselves instead of consuming. I don’t force participants to finish their print in one go. I help them plan and execute it, and try to be realistic with time management. But sometimes people take 2-3 workshops to finish a larger or more detailed piece, and that is fine w me. A lot of my regular workshopes come to get their mind off work/Uni and spend a relaxed few hours doing sth creative. Each individual’s goals and reasons for being at the workshop are different, and I try supporting them in reaching those goals.” Ivo

About Ivo Lederer:

Ivo is a 25y.o. queer printmaker from Vienna who primarily works in linocut. His art centers trans and queer people, often working in the colors of the trans pride flag. Loves cats and late-night printings sessions.
